Excellent finely potted bowl painted with the Mongolian Hunting pattern. The wonderful painting shows men on horse back with various weapons giving chase to animals. The painting shows wonderful characterful faces on animals and people. The Amazon Hunting a Chinese porcelain bowl, Kangxi period (1662-1722) with Dutch silver handle. The height from the bowl is 7 cm , the diam. is 14 cm. The bowl is decorated with a Chinese pagode and at the rim there is a decoration from the great Chinese wall.

The rim was flattened (in comparison to the Chinese taste bowl) for support of the longer 17th century European spoon. The klapmuts was the standard 17th century headgear of the Dutch poor. The less expensive was made out of wool while the more expensive was fashioned of beaver felt. The shape of this hat is the source of the name for the typical Dutch market soup bowl of the late Ming dynasty, typically in Kraak decoration.
